The Historic Midtown Elizabeth Special Improvement District offers merchants and property owners within the Business District the ability to participate in a variety of programs. These programs have been designed to assist local businesses and improve the overall appearance of the Midtown District.
POWER WASHING
The Power Washing Program offers merchants a maximum grant of $500 for the cleaning and washing of stores signs, storefronts, awnings, and the removal of second floor graffiti in the Midtown District. This program is easy to apply for, just contact the SID office at 908.355.9600 and we’ll do the rest.
SIGN AND FAÇADE
The Sign and Façade Program is designed to assist business owners in improving the overall look of their stores, for example, signs, awnings, and store front, helping them with grant monies, and bringing their businesses up to city ordinance. Each business can obtain a maximum of $3,500 grant from the SID to contribute to their sign and façade needs. Most recently, the program has assisted Amber Court (formerly Carteret Senior Living), located at 1155 East Jersey Street, in getting new signs and awnings for their grand opening. Due to limited funds, merchants are encouraged to make an appointment today at the SID office, 908.355.9600, to discuss the program.
MERCHANT PARKING PROGRAM
The Midtown SID offers merchants in the Midtown Business District subsidized parking through its Merchant Parking Program. The Program is designed to alleviate the parking issue in Midtown and subsidize the cost of parking for merchants. The Program is available for lots located within the Midtown Business District. By purchasing a parking permit for one of the lots, merchants will be subsidized by the Midtown SID for a portion of the price of the permit. The program includes a maximum of two cars per business per month.
If you are interested in participating in the Merchant Parking Program, please contact the Midtown SID office at (908) 355-9600.
